Tim Tebow of the Denver Broncos shows his love for his birthplace country by building a Hospital in Davao City to help the less fortunate.

DENVER (CBS4) – Tim Tebow is getting ready to take on the New York Jets this week, but he’s also taking on a new project. Tebow announced Tuesday that his foundation is teaming up with CURE International to build a new children’s hospital in the Philippines. “The Tebow CURE Hospital in Davao City will be a 30-bed surgical facility focusing primarily on orthopedics,” the foundation said in a statement. Tebow was actually born in the Philippines and his parents have worked as missionaries there. “I was born in the Philippines and my parents have been missionaries to that area since 1985. The Philippines have always had a special place in my heart,” Tebow said. “I’m excited to be a part of this hospital that will bring healing to thousands of children who would not otherwise have access to care.” tebow hospital Tebow Foundation To Help Build Childrens Hospital In Philippines (credit: CBS) The quarterback says he’s excited to help children who have no other access to health care. The construction project is expected to cost $3 million, with donors from CURE and the Tebow Foundation sharing the costs. About one-third of the children treated at the hospital are expected to be charity cases. The hospital is set to open in mid-2013.
